Porsche 991 GTS PADM Fault, Brake Replacement & Exhaust Repairs
This blue Porsche 991 GTS with centre lock wheels came into the workshop with a PADM fault, which was traced to the engine mount. While the car was with us, it also received a minor service, new pads and discs all round, and replacement hardware on the exhaust system where the bolts had badly corroded.
PADM stands for Porsche Active Drivetrain Mounts, a system designed to help control engine and drivetrain movement. When a PADM fault appears, it can often point towards an issue with one of the active engine mounts, so proper diagnosis is important before replacing parts.
The braking system was also refreshed with pads and discs all round. On a 991 GTS, braking performance is a major part of the way the car drives, so keeping the discs, pads and calipers in good condition is essential.
During the work, the exhaust system showed heavy corrosion on a number of bolts and fixings. These were replaced to restore proper security and make future maintenance easier. Exhaust hardware corrosion is common on performance cars due to heat, age and road conditions, so it is always worth checking while the car is apart.
