Elite Porsche recently welcomed this Porsche 930 into our Belvedere workshop for investigation into an oil temperature overheating issue. As a classic air-cooled Porsche, the 930 requires careful diagnosis and experienced handling, particularly when faults relate to oil temperature control, engine sealing and access around the rear-mounted flat-six engine.
After inspection, the issue was traced to the oil temperature control valve. This was replaced to restore correct oil temperature regulation and help protect the engine from excessive operating temperatures.
